“We applaud the more than 100 companies that have committed to taking substantive steps within their organizations to ensure that all women are given the opportunity to advance and thrive in the workplace,” said Sandra Beach Lin Co-Chair of the Paradigm for Parity® coalition. “We commend the leadership of these companies for making this significant commitment on behalf of the women they currently employ and the future talent they seek to attract. We are eager to continue supporting our growing coalition of companies as we work together to close the gender gap and champion equity in the workplace.”

“Our work to advance innovation demands that we empower and elevate people who bring forward new ideas, different ways of thinking and constructively challenge the status quo,” said Ken Frazier, Chairman and CEO of Merck. “This is an important movement and we are pleased to stand with 102 other companies that have joined the Paradigm for Parity, as we continue to advance our diversity and inclusion goals and commit to achieving gender parity in leadership positions by 2030.”

“We are proud to partner with the Paradigm for Parity® movement and work towards fully addressing the gender imbalance prevalent in corporate leadership positions,” said Angel Mendez, Chief Operating Officer at HERE. “We are committed to catalyzing change through implementing the 5-Point Paradigm for Parity® Action Plan, which lays out proactive steps for companies to take in order to curb workplace inequality. We look forward to working with the coalition and the other companies that have joined the movement to accelerate the pace of achieving gender parity.”

“The movement toward true gender equality at every level of an organization starts at the top, which is why I’m so proud to stand with more than 100 other CEOs as part of this effort,” commented David G. Nord, Chairman, President and CEO, Hubbell Incorporated. “Diversity of ideas will make the difference between where a company is today and where it is five, 10 and 20 years from now.”

Founded by women CEOs and business leaders, the Paradigm for Parity® coalition is committed to working with companies and executives to achieve a new norm in corporate leadership: one in which women and men have equal power, status and opportunity. The coalition created a 5-Point Action Plan comprised of synergistic steps that, when implemented together, can catalyze change and enable substantial progress towards gender parity by 2030.

The five points are:

  • Eliminating or minimizing unconscious bias in the workplace;

  • Significantly increasing the number of women in senior operating roles;

  • Measuring targets and maintaining accountability by providing regular progress reports;

  • Basing career progress on business results and performance, rather than physical presence in the office; and

  • Providing sponsors, not just mentors, to women well positioned for long term success.
